The Family Service Center
The support that we receive from our family and friends can be very helpful in our recovery after the death of someone we love. Unfortunately not only are most homes not designed to accommodate a large group of visitors, this is also a time that most people feel least like acting as a host or dealing with the clean-up after a gathering. The Family Service Center is designed to provide the families we serve with two facilities for after service receptions.
The Family Service Center is available at no charge to those families who purchase their services through Floral Haven Funeral Home. The facilities are designed to comfortably accommodate parties of up to 100 people. (If there are no conflicts with other families that we are serving, you may have access to the entire facility which will seat 200 people.)
When you choose to use the Family Service Center, we will provide the following items at no charge:
- Tables with Tablecloths
- Chairs
- Plates, Cups, and Napkins
- Tableware and Serving Utensils
- Coffee and Iced Tea
- Salt, Pepper, Creamer, Sugar and Sweetener
- Microwave and Icemaker
- A Luncheon Coordinator to Assist
Food Items for the reception we leave to the discretion of the family. This may be handled through your church, your friends, or with a caterer. (Let your Funeral Director know if you wish to view the list of caterers and catering menus that are available in the arrangement office.)
We do have refrigerators available for food storage 2 hours prior to service time. We do not have conventional ovens or ranges for food preparation. For legal purposes, Floral Haven does not allow alcoholic beverages to be served at the Family Center.
We simply request a minimum of 24 hours notice to schedule a reception in our facility. We ask that as a courtesy, families using the Family Service Center for a reception before a Funeral Service, not ask if they can come back again after the Service for another reception.
It is also helpful if someone from your family, friends, or Church contact the Facilities Coordinator, Doug Hash, at (918) 697-2221 or (918) 252-2518 to make arrangements for receiving the food and preparing the reception room.
