I had the pleasure of meeting Gene only once. I went out with Jerry to Wagoner and visited with him for quite some time and had a greatest time at lunch! He asked me so many questions and we three just laughed and laughed. We went back to his shop and he showed us all the cars and we just talked. He wanted me to take care of his dogs this past summer while he went out of town but, well we just never got to it. I am devastated to hear the news of his passing. My Dad, my mentor, my friend, my buddy, my advisor. Its time to grow up now. I looked up to him for advise and guidance on a regular basis. I went to his aid when needed, I called him almost every day. I love my Dad and will miss him more than most will know. Good-Bye for now, we will see each other again I'm sure. I love you Daddy!!!
