Lindel Adair

Birth Date: May 27, 1934
Death Date: December 6, 2018

Lindel Virl Adair, 84, was born to Floyd and Josie Adair on May 27, 1934 in Baron, Oklahoma. He passed away on December 6, 2018.

Lindel was a distinguished man of many talents and accolades. After he graduated from Westville High School, he attended Haskel Business College in Lawrence, Kansas. In 1955, he joined the United States Army, and was ultimately stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas.  After Lindel was honorably discharged on January of 1957, he decided to further education at NSU in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He ultimately transferred to the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1962, and by 1976 was promoted to Major. He retired from the Airforce Reserve in 1988. He had a long career in Personnel Management and received numerous awards for his efforts.

Outside of work, Lindel enjoyed spending time with family and friends- especially if it involved hunting or fishing.  He loved to walk the fields with Fred, his brittany spaniel.  Lindel was an incredible marksman, and as a result, was often excluded from entering the local turkey hunt, because it was a guarantee that he would ALWAYS get the bird.

Over the past 15 years, Lindel and Vivian have attended Asbury Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He started each morning immersed in the readings of God’s Word. His faith was evident through his acts of kindness, good deeds, and generosity to others.

Lindel is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vivian Adair; son Bryan; daughter Kim; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother Gordon and wife Jeannie Thompson; and a number of loving friends.

He will forever remain in the hearts of those that loved him.

  2. Praying for Mr Adair’s family

    Written by: Shelley Thompson Forbes

I grew up right next door to Mr Adair and his family. It seemed I was at thier house every other day when I was younger visiting with Kim. He was always very kind to me when I saw him. I know he will be missed by his family but I know they have comfort in knowing he is with Jesus. We will be keeping the family in our prayers!! God bless, Carl and Shelley Thompson Forbes

  3. Remembering Lindel

    Written by: Marilynne Tisdal

I know Lindel through his granddaughter, Alonna, and his great grand children Trip and Londyn who are my grandchildren. He is a most generous, caring and fun-loving man. He and Vivian were supportive of the children’s activities and were always at ballgames, school programs and encouraged them in whatever they did. I’m sure Lindel did not know what a positive impact he made in peoples’ lives. His strength was just something you felt when around him. I know his family and friends will miss their Papa. I pray Vivian and all will be comforted to know he is in heaven and they will see him again. 💕💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 And when a fish is caught from that pond, know he put it on the hook!! Love to you all.
