Anthony (Tony) Lee Tyer passed away on May 1st at his home in Broken Arrow. Tony was born November 15, 1943, to Elmer and June (Mosley) Tyer, both deceased, of Sapulpa, OK. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara (Martin) Tyer, sons Gary (Amy) Tyer, Greg (Kim) Tyer, and Randal Tyer; daughter Sandi (Jon) Henry, sister Sandra Bowman, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Tony was born in Oklahoma City and lived a majority of his life in Sapulpa, graduating in 1961 from Sapulpa High School. He was a graduate of The Graduate School of Banking of The South, Louisiana State University, The National Commercial Lending School and the Oklahoma School of Intermediate Banking, Oklahoma University, and the National Installment Credit School, Oklahoma State University. In 1961, he joined the United States Navy, serving as a Radioman (RM) and a member of the Ship’s boxing team. After his honorable discharge in 1963, he returned to Sapulpa. Tony worked in the Tulsa banking and financial industry for 48 years, retiring in 2013 from Central Bank and Trust as president of the Tulsa and Sapulpa branches. Tony enjoyed boating with his wife, Barbara, and spent many years cruising Grand Lake and Keystone Lake. The family would like to recognize Angels Home Health Care and Saint Francis Hospice for their loving and tender care provided to Tony. A Veterans chapel on Thursday May 5th at 3:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
