Betty Jean Carter

Betty Jean Carter was born on February 7, 1930 in Cherryville, NC to Chesley Gray and Lollie Mae (Allen) Black and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 12, 2011. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  With a heart to minister to others, she impacted the lives of many people. She had a puppet ministry, led childrenâ??s worship, and owned a gift and collectibles shop for many years on Main Street.  She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, two brothers and three sisters.  She is survived by her husband, Bob, of 58 years, one daughter, Rita and husband, Kelvin Dodson of Broken Arrow; three sons, Bob, Jr. and wife Cathy of Oklahoma City, Randy and wife Beverly of Tulsa, and Chad and wife Ann of Broken Arrow. Grandchildren include Tami, Scott, Todd, Calee, Tessica, Brian, Ryan and one great-grandson, Gage. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at Floral Haven. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00a.m. in the Floral Haven Chapel.
