C. Patrick “Pat” Murphy

Charles Patrick Murphy passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012. Born in Sikeston, Mo. to Betty (Edmond) and Burnie Murphy on April 13, 1941, he was known as Pat to his beloved family and many friends. The first of four children. Pat spent most of his life in Springfield, Mo., where he met his loving wife of 50 years, Loretta (Ritterbach) Murphy. Pat started with Frisco Railroad as an electrician and worked in management as it became Burlington Northern Santa Fe RR for 42 years before retiring in 2001. Pat is preceded in death by his parents and his great granddaughter, Rylan Rose. He is survived by his wife Loretta, his three siblings; Linda Withane of Tulsa, Nan Karnes of Jefferson City, Mo., Missy and David Frazee of Lubbock, Texas, and his three daughters; Michelle and Neptali Narveaz of Des Moines, Iowa; Shannon Mays of Tulsa, and Melanie and Marty Mitchell of Tulsa; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Weibel and the dedicated staff at Cancer Care Associates, as well as Drs. Brent Dennis, Williams Lewis, Stephen Confer and others throughout Saint Francis Health System. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 17 at Church of St. Mary. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Springfield, Mo.
