Carl Henson

Carl was born to Beulah May Henson and James Elonzo Henson. He joined the Air Force in 1942 and served for 3 yrs and 22 months with an honorable discharge. While in the Air Force he was trained as a mechanic on P-38’s and was discharged on February 18, 1946 as a Sergeant. He used his GI bill to get a B.S. degree in 1949 in Education and a Masters Degree in 1955. He was a teacher in Catoosa, Roland, Oklahoma. A principal at Kansas, OK. And a Superintendant at Kinta, OK. In 1964 he became the first Special Education Counselor in Oklahoma. He spent 22 yrs as a Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor. Retiring on June 10, 1986 with Governor Nigh declaring it Carl Henson Day and giving him the title Mr. Special Education for Northeast Oklahoma. He loved his family and loved giving advice and guidance to them. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred of 53 yrs. His parents and 3 brothers. Survivors include Children, Howard and wife Lynn Henson, Carl Gene and wife Susan Henson. Grandchildren, Rusty and wife Kristi Henson, Angela and husband Ryan Miller. Orlando and wife Amy Domalay and Lester Henson. Great-grandchildren, Bailey and Edith Henson and Vaugh Miller. Two sisters, two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Broken Arrow, OK. Viewing will be 6:00 9:00 PM on Monday evening. Interment to be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.Survived By:
