He graduated from Yale High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in World War II where he was assigned to photograph areas in enemy teritory for strategic planning. When he returned from the war, he attended Oklahoma State University and then transferred to Northern Arizona University where he received a degree in business administration. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administation deree from the University of Denver in 1952. Mr. Simmons spent his 35 year career with Richfield Oil Company which later became ARCO. He was the Employee Relations Manager of the Lyondell chemical plant in Houston for many years, and later returned to Sand Springs, Oklahoma and later retired from that location. Education was extremely important to him. He worked his own way through college and always taught his two daughters, Michelle Simmons Hollingworth and Eugenia Simmons Hansen to value education above all else. He would help anyone, even acquaintances, if they expressed a desire to go to college or to improve themselves through education. He met his wife, Barbara after retirement and they married in 1987. They shared many interests in antiques and cooking and had a loving relationship that everyone could see was special. Barbara and Carl had many friends at Mathis Brothers Furniture when he was employed as Training Manager. Carl was a spiritual man and loved to talk about the Bible and the importance of its teachings. Now he is in God’s hands.Survived By: loving wife: Barbara Simmons of the home, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Daughters: Michelle Simmons Hollingworth, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Eugenia Simmons Hansen, Grand Prairie, Texas; brother: Bob Simmons, Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Todd and Kaitlyn Hansen, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Brad, Jennifer, Jeff and Chris Hollingworth, California and Texas; stepsons: Craig Harris, Catoosa, Oklahoma, and Curt Harris, Blue Jacket, Oklahoma; and stepdaughter, Chris Kuroye, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
