Delbert Pool was born in Albany, Oklahoma on January 6, 1927. He entered the US Army in 1945 and served during WWII. After the Army, he attended Southeastern State University and continued on to the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Masterâ??s degree. He spent most of his career working for Tulsa Public Schools as a teacher, elementary principal, assistant director of education, and retired as director of teacher placement. He is survived by: his wife of nearly 65 years, Nell; son, Keith and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Lindsey and Cameron; sister, Lela; and several nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at Floral Haven on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 12pm-6pm. A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the childrenâ??s music ministry at Asbury or a charity of your choice.
