GENEVA JEWELL "GRANNY" BECKHAM Born August 18th, 1919 in Canadian, Oklahoma to Lethia (Lampkin) Johnson and Thomas Clinton Johnson. Passed from this life into eternity on November 9th, 2020. She was 101 years old and 83 days. A testimony of the goodness of God. "Granny" was united in marriage to the love of her life, Earl Wayne Beckham, on January 4th, 1937. For the majority of their lives they worked in the crude oil business and owned and operated Beckham & Helms Oil Purchasing and Marketing. Together they also ran oil leases in Osage and Okmulgee counties until selling out in the seventies. Geneva was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Broken Arrow, a founder of Fellowship Christian Church in Broken Arrow, First Christian Church of Wagoner, and most recently First Baptist Church in Weleetka, OK. She served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, deaconess, officer's in Ladies organizations, and as a steadfast member of each congregation. Mrs. Beckham loved to serve others. Earl and Geneva owned and operated a Cafe and Service Station in Tulsa at the corner of 51st Street and Memorial Road for over 10 years shortly after being married. Due to her training as a cook at home, Geneva had plenty of experience as she fed her twelve brothers and sisters and farm hands daily, breakfast, lunch, and supper, it made her a perfect fit for the truck stop and she loved cooking for the hungry truckers and families traveling south and east out of T-Town. Her pies were legendary along with everything else including the best cheeseburger in east Tulsa. She loved people and loved to see them happy ... and full. Mrs. Beckham lived most of her life in and around Broken Arrow/Tulsa before retiring to their newly remodeled lake home on Fort Gibson Lake, Wagoner, in 1975. In 1998, her and her husband sold their lake property and moved to Weleetka. They found enjoyment being active in their grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. "Granny" loved cooking the evening meal almost every night of the week up until she was physically unable. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents, all twelve brothers and sisters and their spouses, aunts, uncles, and most cousins. Geneva is survived by her son Glenn Earl Beckham and wife Barbara, her daughter Glenda Kay Sheneman and husband Guy, her grandchildren, Sherrie Plemmons and husband Chuck, Steven Glenn Beckham, Grant Sheneman and wife Jessica, Guyla Roberts and husband Jeremy, Gallen Sheneman and wife Brittany, and Garrett Sheneman and wife Kristin. She also leaves behind fourteen great-grandchildren, Melissa, Christopher, Kendall, Kellen, Kaisen, Karder, Jonah, Gabriella, Joshua, Gavin, Breauna, Brynlee, Gabriel, and Harper. "Granny" will be greatly missed by her family, church members, and friends. ***FOR THOSE THAT CANNOT ATTEND THE SERVICE IN PERSON, PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THE FOLLOWING WEB ADDRESS IN YOUR BROWSER OR CLICK ON THE LINK: THE LIVE STREAM WILL START AT APPROXIMATELY 10:45 AM.
