Harold “Swede” NyQuist

Harold â??Swedeâ? NyQuist AKA Coach,  Swede passed away on Nov. 4 2010 at the age of 84. Swede was born in Vally City, ND on May 10, 1926 to Leonard Charles and Augusta Charlotte NyQuist. He was preceded in death by his son Harold â??Dr. Oleâ? NyQuist and his parents and siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Roxie, a daughter Jean NyQuist of Vista, CA, Sons Bill NyQuist, DDS and Jerry NyQuist , both of Tulsa daughter-in-Law Suzie NyQuist, of Tulsa. Three grandsons Jeremy NyQuist of San Diego, CA, Erik NyQuist of New York City, NY, and Kyle NyQuist of Studio City, CA, his Mother-in-Law, Wilma Moxley of Albuquerque, NM, and 3 sister-in-laws Margaret Mc Manus of Bernillo, NM, Kathleen Gibson of Albuquerque, NM and Jeanette Clements of Eldorado, KS, 2 nephews Harlan Darkenwald of Long Prairie, MN and Charles Trembley of Oakhurst, CA.            Swede was very active in little league sports. He was one of the 3 organizers of Pop Warner Football in Tulsa. Swede also coached baseball and wrestling. His baseball team The Hardheads won many city and state championships as well as tournaments. He worked in the sign business for 45 years. He was the owner of Letters-N a letter fabrication company then retired in 1994. After his retirement he spent many hours working with his beautiful flowers.            Services will be held at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Nov. 9 2010 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Floral Haven Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Parkinsonâ??s Disease Foundation for information call Jenny Johnson at 747-3747.
