Harry Winston Hunt Harry Winston Hunt, 79, passed from this life on January 24, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Ok. Harry was born July 25, 1942, in Wann, Ok, to Harvey Bryan and Gladys Marie (McCrady) Hunt. Harry was raised on a farm in Cawker City, KS. Harry excelled in every sport he was in, including baseball, basketball, and football. In his senior year of high school, he was both Sr. Class President and Homecoming King. Harry volunteered for the US Army during Vietnam in 1962. He started his Army career with the Corp. of Engineer and then in administration. He was stationed in Vietnam, Berlin, Thailand, Berkley CA, Dublin CA, and retired in Boise ID. The family moved to Oklahoma where he started his 2nd career with Tulsa Police Department. Harry was the oldest rookie officer at age 38 and as a rookie, he ran the Tulsa Run with a sprained ankle. They called him Papa Smurf. He worked hard to provide for his family. He was in the robbery unit and then Major Crimes Unit as a Detective. He was in CSI "before CSI was cool." Harry became bored with retirement and went back to school to get a law degree. He received a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice and became a Professor of Criminal Justice at Arkansas State University in Newport, AR. He also taught Criminal Justice at Vatterott College and Oklahoma State University. Harry was married to the love of his life Irene for 42 years and he always made life exciting for Irene. They were huge OU Football fans, and loved to travel in the Southwest USA. Harry is survived by his wife Irene Hunt of the home; children: Christine Rollins and husband Ryan, Alison Hunt, Ward Mizell-Hunt and wife Alesha Shook, Jarrod Christian Hunt, and Michael McCrady Hunt and wife Polly. Grandchildren: Sierra, Nathan, Sophie, Nolan, Wilson, Cooper, Ayden, Britney, Savannah, Ava, Jackson, Angel, Christopher, and Pedro; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
