Connie Stuart

Iris Cornelia "Connie" Stuart, 83 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at her home with family by her side. She was born September 20, 1938 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to her parents, Clifford Cornelius "Doc" Collier and Iris Miriam Johnson Collier. As a child, she enjoyed time spent on the Collier family farm in Winslow, Arkansas. While attending Tulsa University, Connie met her future husband. In October of 1958 she took the hand of Paul Stuart and they were married. Over the next 36 years they had 3 children as they shared their lives together. Devoted to her husband and children, she lived a typical life until Paul was called to Heaven in 1994. At that time, she assumed control and successfully ran the family business until her passing Connie traveled extensively, across the US and Europe. She and her dear sister, Mary Wheat, enjoyed globe hopping or just relaxing on the beach in Galveston, TX. Anywhere warm and sunny was her favorite. She also spent many hours researching her family history. Painting, passed down from her mother, was another hobby. Even while running the company, she found time to volunteer for senior tax prep assistance. Connie later found a passion for the opera, both performing as an extra, and running the Tulsa Opera's costume shop for many years. A loving person, Connie was extremely fond of animals, proven by a long list of rescued cats & dogs. A knack for making friends wherever she went has resulted in an extensive roll call of people she was proud to have known. She was very happy when she was with anyone's children. Many joyous hours were spent engaging in conversations with toddlers or playing board games with them. Connie is loved, remembered and honored by all who knew her, especially her family. She will be greatly missed and our hearts a little more at ease knowing that she is back in the arms of Paul, the love of her life. Connie is survived by three children, Alan Stuart of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Diann Stuart of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dale Stuart and his wife Lori of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Paul Stuart, Lauren Stuart, Adrianna Gibson and Breanna Stuart; two great-grandchildren, Lillian Stuart and Sebastian Stuart; a sister, Mary Wheat of Houston, Texas; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
