James “Jim” Irving Gaylor, 81, passed away Tuesday April 30, 2013. He was born May 15, 1931 in Stillwater, OK. Jim was the son of Harvey & Bernice (Jones) Gaylor. Jim attended Union High School where he met his sweetheart Bernice Masterson. The two were married after their graduation in 1949. They made their home in Tulsa where Jim worked for Sipes Food Market until 1957 at which time Jim was called into the gospel ministry. The couple moved to Springfield, MO where he entered Baptist Bible College, graduating in 1961. They then moved to Broken Arrow, OK where Jim pastored a church, Bible Baptist at 500 W. College. He pastored at Bible Baptist for seventeen years until health problems forced him to resign. Jim and Bernice purchased a refuse company, Green Country Trash Service, and continued to work part time while enjoying his hobby of fishing from their lake home in Wagoner, OK. Jim is survived by his wife Bernice; his children Brenda Joyce & Kenneth Beall, Terri Trogdon, and Doug & Cheryle Gaylor. Ten grandchildren, Ten Great-grandchildren, and one Great Great Granddaughter. Two sisters, Helen Underwood and Joan Whyte, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews Memorial donations are requested to be sent to Coweta Baptist Church. Viewing is at Floral Haven on Friday, May 3 from 10am – 8pm. Family will greet friends from 5pm – 7pm. Services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow. Burial following at Floral Haven.
