James Kenneth Lawson

James Kenneth Lawson, 77 of Lockhart, Texas (formerly from Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tulsa, Oklahoma) passed away Monday, February 14th, 2022 at Ascension Seton Hospital in Kyle, Texas. James was born on September 30th, 1944 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Clyde Lawson and Mattie Bell (Mabry) Lawson. James married his wife Cheryl Horton Lawson on September 13, 1986, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They enjoyed 35 years of marriage. James is survived by his wife Cheryl Lawson of Lockhart, Texas; his son James T Lawson and his wife Lidia Lawson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his step-children Heather Vaspra of Lockhart, Texas, and Ryan Vaspra of Fallbrook, California; his grandchildren Aidan, Isabella and Elias and his step-grandchildren, Ryan Edmunds and Noah and Austin; his nephew Terrie Burden and his wife Susan Burden of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his great-nephew Tim Burden and his wife Jackie Burden of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Evangeline Solomon and great-nephew Joseph Solomon and his wife Linda Solomon of Jacksonville, Florida; as well as extended family and friends. James is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Mattie Bell Lawson; his sisters Peggie Burden and Della Solomon; brother in law Tommie Burden and nephew Jim Solomon. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 12:30 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made in James' name to The Cancer Society or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
