John Lawrence Taylor

July 15, 1928 - March 11, 2022

John Lawrence Taylor, (JL or J), 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away March 11th, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 15th, 1928, in Augusta, Kansas to Amy Florence Hartley/Taylor and Lawrence Albert Taylor. John was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Melba Marie Taylor, his parents, and Cara Tannehill (Mosley). He is survived by daughter Sherie/Steve Mosley; grandson, Robert/Stephanie Mosley, Great Grandsons Jacoby, Josiah, Ethan, Grandson, Brandon Mosley, and Grandson Ryan/Amira Mosley, Great grandsons Rowan, Declan and Hudson, daughter Amy Taylor and Granddaughters Alicia McSpadden, Emily McSpadden, and Rachel McSpadden. He is also survived by close relatives Emily Ann Siroky, William (Bill) Edgar Witmer, and a host of nieces and nephews. John joined the Army spending time in Korea before returning home to attend college. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University and spent his career working as an engineer in the oil and gas industry. John touched many lives, from cashier’s, neighbors, hospital staff, to all who entered his home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Allied Hospice and the many caregivers who John called his angels. A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held at Floral Haven, Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
