Louise Bohanon was born in Kinta, Oklahoma, February 7, 1918, to Elmer J. Bohanon and Myrtle Riddle Bohanon. Louise was the second of five children. At 2 years, Louise and her family moved to Sardis, Oklahoma. Louise worked in the fields with her father and brother, William Bohanon. The days were long and hard, but she continued until she married. Her outdoor experience mostly likely helped developed her talent for gardening, flower, plants and vegetables. Beginning her education, Louise and her brother, William Bohanon, attended a small school in Sardis. He and Louise rode a horse to Sardis to attend the small school. Later, Louise attended Tuskahoma High School, where she graduated in 1935. As a Christian, Louise joined Nogales Avenue Baptist Church. After moving to 4th Place and Sheridan Road, she joined Calvary Baptist Church in 1947. In her new church, she developed a great number of devoted friends, who remained constant throughout life. As she received, Louise freely gave to Calvaryâ??s membership: working in the library, preparing or serving meals for special occasions, supporting the youth ministry with parties and transportation to Falls Creek Baptist Assembly, starting tole painting and ceramics classes, and providing a planning and a place for Sunday School Class parties. Later, Louise joined the 39s group and took many memorable trips. Louise served her community, also. She was a Cub Scout leader, a Girl Scout leader, and provided treats for school parties. Her artistic abilities were shared, for she donated her completed work to organizations, such as the Tiawah Fire Departmentâ??s Annual Fish Fry to assist in raising funds. Lawson and Louise began and built a family business. The Flinchum Construction Company grew with the knowledge of his trade and Louise to assist him with through office skills and keeping financial records. Louise developed an interest and joy in bowling. She bowled very well earning many awards. Her second source of relaxation was her participation in China Painters of Tulsa. Louise was preceded in death by: Her husband, Lawson Flinchum, her parents E.J. Bohanon and Myrtle Bohanon, her brother, William Bohanon (Tuskahoma), two sisters, Wanda Miller (Lake Jackson, Texas) and Frankie Rezabek (Stillwater, Oklahoma), and son-in-law, Robert Ailshie (Claremore, Oklahoma). Louise leaves a son, Gary Flinchum and wife Nancy (Owasso, Oklahoma), daughters Linda Holley (St. Louis, Missouri), Marcia Alshie (Claremore) and Cheryl Flinchum (Fairfax, Oklahoma); and, grandchildren, Andrew, Gabriel and Daniel Graham (Fairfax), Brian and Mary Lou Holley (St. Louis) and Jennifer Brummett (Skiatook, Oklahoma) and Leasa Alshie (Jacksonville, Texas). Louise also leaves 7 great-grandchildren living in Fairfax, Oklahoma.
