Mildred Harriet Stewart

Mildred Harriet Dyer Stewart, 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away January 2, 2011, at the Clarehouse end of life care center, where she has been a resident for a week. Mrs. Stewart was born on April 12, 1917, in rural Stewartsville, Missouri, to Jonathan Edward and Mabel Paddock Dyer. She graduated from Amity High School, Amity, MO, and earned BA degree from Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas. She became a Christian at an early age and was a long-time member of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mrs. Stewart was a school teacher in rural Missouri and Baldwin, Kansas until her marriage to Wilton T. Stewart on June 11, 1944. After Wiltonâ??s retirement, they moved to Missouri to assist in the care of Mildredâ??s parents on the farm in Amity. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, J. Willard Dyer, her sister, Ruth Dyer Hough, and her son W. Terry Stewart. She is survived by her son, Mark and wife, Theresa Stewart; her daughter, Carol and husband, Steve Diebel of Boulder, Colorado; her son Greg and wife, Terrie Stewart of Granada Hills, California and Terryâ??s wife, Margo Stewart of Claremore, Oklahoma. She is further survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, 11:00 AM, January 6, 2011 at the Amity United Methodist Church, 4101 Church Street, Amity, MO 64422, Tel: 816) 449-5440. Interment will follow at the Amity Cemetery, a quarter mile North of the Amity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Clarehouse, end of life care center, 7617 S.
