Norma Ruth Weidner
July 4, 1931 - March 27, 2022
Norma Ruth Holland Weidner went to heaven March 27th, 2022. She was a glorious 90 and a half years old. She died in her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on July 4th, 1931 and was the true 4th of July kind of woman, full of joy and life. She was married to her life-long love, Richard Alvin Weidner for 50 years and he preceded her in death. She worked in the medical field and once retired, volunteered for 10 years at Saint Francis Hospital as a Pink Lady. She danced all her life, swing dancing and square dancing with Richard and then dancing with a volunteer group called the Belles. She gardened extensively, loved birds, deer and all manner of living creatures. She loved her family and was dedicated to them. Her mother, Mildred Pearl Hamilton Holland and father, James Louis Holland, went to heaven ahead of her as did her brothers, J.L. Holland and Robert Dale Holland. She is survived by her sister, Deborah Holland Bozarth, wife of Bob Bozarth, as well as her sister, Peggy Holland Gaston, wife of Harlo Gaston and her brother, Donald Holland, husband of Virginia Phillips Holland. Mother loved gardens and grew beautiful flowers anywhere she lived. Her most prized garden was her family. She was the cherished mother of Linda Weidner Costello, and husband John Costello, Regina Jo Weidner and partner Claude Sober, Richard Jay Weidner and wife, Meemong Lee and Vicky Weidner and her husband Brian Edwards. Children were mother’s delight and her unending joy. She has ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Norma loved completely and well. She was cared for in the home by Kelsey Weidner Philo and husband Jeremy Philo with eight month old Kenai. The Philo family gave Norma unending joy and made her last five years full of color, light, music and laughter. Vicky Weidner and Brian Edwards completed a home full of nurturing care. Caring for Norma expanded their lives and brought them closer together.
