Ralph Wayne Jackson

August 8, 1936 - December 23, 2011

Ralph Wayne Jackson, 75, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011. Born August 8, 1936 in Seminole, OK to Grace & Roy Jackson. He graduated from Linsey High School in 1955, where he played Basketball. While attending Oklahoma University, Ralph was pursued by the Baltimore Orioles baseball organization because he was known for his knuckleball, but instead chose to graduate with a Petroleum Engineer degree in 1959.    He worked for Sinclair Oil & Gas in the beginning of 1959 until 1966. He met and married his wife, Donna, in 1965, In 1966, Ralph served as Vice President for Kiplinger & Associates until 1978, at which time, he cofounded Chase Exploration Corporation. In 1983 he founded Jackson Engineering Corporation as an engineering consultant until he joined Pacific Enterprises Oil Company in Dallas in 1987.    Ralph and Donna returned to Tulsa in 1991, where he resumed his consulting business. He was considered a leader and expert in his field. During his 45-year career, he served as President of the Security of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, as well as serving as President of the Tulsa Petroleum Club. Other professional affiliations include Society of Petroleum Engineers, Tulsa Geological Society, and Society of Professional Well Log Analysts & American Gas Association.   Ralph was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. He was known for his one-liners and was a mischievous teaser.    He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna and his 5 children: Rick & wife, Cindy; Chris  & wife Becky; Debi Estep & partner Charles McGithering; Paul & wife Melissa; Julie Friend & husband Ron. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy & Grace, sister Joyce, brother Roy and grandson Hunter   Ralph was deeply loved & respected by friends and family.
