October 30, 1941 - October 15, 2020
Sheryl Lea Travis passed away October 15, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born October 30, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to LeRoy and Evelyn Bucknell. Sheryl did not think she was special, but she was. She had rheumatoid arthritis for more than 50 years, but didn’t let that slow her down. She was an example to others to not give up. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Alluwe School Board, and a member of the Alluwe PTO. She held three associate degrees, and was a certified occupational therapist assistant. She also volunteered with hospice. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Green Country Garden Club in Bartlesville. She loved spending time at her home in Fort Bragg, California. She could see the beach from the porch, and she was always up for an adventure with her sister, Karen Sanford, to see a new place or animal or try a new restaurant. Although she loved being in California, she was always ready to come home to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. When she was at her home in Broken Arrow she loved seeing her family, sitting on her deck watching all the birds and squirrels, and planning a new adventure. Over the years Sheryl and Karen traveled the country, by themselves, and also went on many trips to see and learn new things. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She is survived by her two children: Matthew Travis and Karen Larkin; eight grandchildren: Jesse Larkin, Justin Larkin, Jarett Larkin, Sara Anderson, Jacob Elyassin, Brittany Moore, Joshua Travis and Gabrielle Travis; six great grandchildren: Jamie and Jessica Larkin, Kennedy Moore, Solomon, Abraham and Eve Anderson; brother Robert Bucknell and sister Karen Sanford. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the charity of your choice; she donated time and money to many.
