Vivian Lee Ohler died Thursday, July 4, 2013, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, after a brave fight with Alzheimerâ??s disease. Vivian was born August 18, 1927, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Glenn and Julia Young. She spent most of her life in Tulsa and graduated from Marquette High School in 1945. She helped with the family eating business before going to work for a Tulsa oil and gas company. She spent weekends dancing at the local YWCA, where she met her future husband, Gordon Ohler. A first date at the Tulsa State Fair led to almost 51 years of marriage before Vivian lost her dance partner in 2005. Family was always important to Vivian, and she spent most of her years as a homemaker. In later years, she enjoyed taking her grandchildren fishing and camping. Vivian volunteered for 15 years with Broken Arrow Neighbors, where she was named volunteer of the year. Vivian was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and sisters, Mary Glenn Crowley, Arlene McGivern and Carlene Weyant. She is survived by: her daughters, Conni Eckstein, Norman, OK, and Rhonda Clark and husband, Larry, Joplin, MO; grandchildren, Chris Clark, Jennifer Johnson and husband, Adam, Neill Clark, Tim Eckstein, and Damien Eckstein and wife, Tiffany; great-grandchildren Lucas, Adeline and Shane Johnson and Drake, Aubree and Blaine Eckstein; her sister, Carol Davis; and many nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at Senior Village and Crossroads Hospice for caring for Vivian. Donations may be made in her memory to Tulsaâ??s Church of the Madalene.Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, July 8th, Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow. Rosary will be 7:30 PM, Monday, July 8th, Church Of The Madalene, Tulsa. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 9th, Church Of The Madalene, Tulsa with the committal service to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow. Reception will be 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 9th, Floral Haven Family Center, Broken Arrow.
