Tulsa resident Warren A. Werling passed away Saturday March 2, 2013. Born April 7, 1923, in Queens, New York City, Warren was the only son of Carrie Emily Rothenbach Werling and Ferdinand John Werling both of New York. Warren entered the US Army in 1943 and served in World War II with the 364th Combat Engineers, headquarters unit, receiving a unit citation, Victory medal, and Good Conduct medal. He was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1946. In 1945, prior to his discharge, Warren married his wife of fifty years, June Acree Werling. Warren and June raised two sons: Lee and Jeff. Warren graduated from New York University with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Management. Warren later obtained his CLU and enjoyed a successful career in financial planning in the insurance and investments industry. In 1998 Warren married Carroll Adams of Tulsa. Together Warren and Carroll enjoyed traveling, showing antiques cars, and spending time with their sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Warren was active in the Scottish Rite, was a Past Potentate of Akdar Shrine, and was Past President of Central States Shrine Association. An avid antique car enthusiast, he was a member of the Jaguar Club of Tulsa and the Shrine Kar Buffs. Warren was a fifty year member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Tulsa and also taught grief recovery classes at Floral Haven for almost twenty years.Warren is survived by his wife of 15years, Carroll, his two sons Lee Werling of Atkinson, New Hampshire; Jeff Werling and wife Becki of Morrison, Colorado; grandson Michael Werling and wife Diane of Littleton Massachusetts; granddaughter Heather Crizzio and husband Mike of Centenial, Colorado; grandson A.J. Werling and wife Gera of Colorado. He is also survived by his four step-daughters and their families: Sandra Orvis Enterline and husband Bob of Albuquerque, NM; Terri Orvis of Fairfax, VA; Jenni Orvis Roswurm and husband Scot of Goldsby, OK; Kathi Orvis Morrison of Lithia, FL. Warren was a loving grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 4803 S. Lewis, Tulsa.Memorial contributions may be made in Warrenâ??s name to Ascension Lutheran Church or Akdar Shrine Transportation Fund.
