Tom and Patty and I have been neighbors for over fifty years. I can verify that Tom knew everyone up and down our street. If he didn't know you, it was because you didn't stand still long enough to give him a chance to know you. His humor and smile made it easy to know him, and like him. Bob B. was right when he said Tom was a generous, sensitive and a loving kind of guy.

After my husband passed, sixteen years ago, Tom came down and insisted he would get my mail from the curb and put it on my door knob. I thought well that's a kind thing to do, maybe a week or so????That is not what he had in mind. He never missed, neither rain,sleet,snow, not even OKLAHOMA wind could keep him from following through what he said he would do for sixteen years. He made his last delivery on the Saturday before his Father in Heaven called him home on Sunday with "Well done my good and faithful servant."

I will miss our quick "hellos" and short chats, laughs and smiles.And I wasn't the only widow who kept him busy. All widows on our block garnered his mail delivery.

I'm happy to have known him and on behalf of the other widows whose lives he made a little easier, I say "Thanks Tom for such a sweet jester and memory. Lyn Stephens

My memories are shared between Tom and Patty. Dinners out on Friday night with them and the Branson's. My Tom is the 4th on the golf duffers team. Patty is my friend of 30 years and when Bob B. and Tom needed someone to play with I had them contact Tom and Tim. They played a lot of games together and even had a picture taken at one of the tournaments with Miss Oklahoma. I will miss Tom's humor and hugs. He will always be in Tom's and my heart.

Tim, one of the four golf duffers. Tom was very competitive when playing any type of sports. Bob B. Our leader got us involved in his church Par 3 golf tournament held each year at the Lafortune golf course in June. One year we were playing hole #17 and Tom and I were playing the same type ball, a Top Flight 1
I was close to the cup so I walked up and putted the ball in the hole. Every one else picked up their balls and Tom picked up my ball which was in the cup and put the flag back in the hole. As we were walking back to our cart I said Tom, let me have my ball. He looked at me and said no, that's my ball. I looked back at the green to see if there was a ball left on the green. The green was void of a ball. So, we got into the cart and rode to the #18 tee box. While walking to the tee box Tom said, oh I am sorry about your ball because I reached into my pocket and pulled out two Taylor Made #1 balls. He had forgot that he had picked up his ball before I had putted my ball into the cup. Tom said it must have been a senior moment! He handed me my ball and we had a good laugh about the episode. We won the B flight that year and our groups average age was 78. I know that Patty, Stacey, Jeff and the rest of the Martinson family tree will miss Tom, But like his old golfing duffers his wit and humor will remain in our hearts until we join him in his heavenly home. TOM, TOM, TIM, BOB. Four duffers golfing together. Martinson was the best of the group. It was like an Easter Egg Hunt trying to find where we hit the balls. We laughed a lot. “Hit & Giggle”. We looked forward to The Nineteenth Hole, bragging about the good shots. Making excuses for the bad ones.
Martinson was nearly deaf, so am I. We had great conversations we neither fully heard nor understood. Jokes and laughter interspersed with nuggets of wisdom. Martinson knew a lot about a lot.
Martinson came to my rescue when my wife died and I got so sick my self-employed daughter gave up her work, traveled Tulsa to nurse me back to health. Martinson hired my daughter to help him and Patty. He knew she had no income while in Tulsa. He was a generous, sensitive, loving kind of Guy. Thanks.
Our wives were good friends too. Martinson’s loved my Jan. After Jan died, they adopted and loved my Earlene. There’s a word that describes Tom Martinson, and Patty too. Grace. Neither ever met a Stranger. Tom will be missed. Prayers of Love are wrapped around Patty and the family.
I’d write more but tears get in my way.

I worked with Tom for many many years in American Airlines Aircraft Line Maintenance Budget and Cost Department. He was in Tulsa and I was in JFK (New York). He was my mentor and taught me how to prepare an annual budget. Many long phone conversations.

Tom was respected by his bosses and coworkers. He had a great personality, storehouse of knowledge and was so patient. There were 3 of us in NY all females. This was different as we worked in the world of Aircraft Maintenance.
Mostly men. Tom taught us step by step what to do.

It was not unusual for me to come to the budget presentation in Tulsa with an unfinished budget. Tom would always meet me at the airport and work far into the night to help me finish.

In our lifetimes we meet certain people that are special. Tom was one of these special people. He will be remembered by many.
