My sincere condolences to the family of Mr. George Dorsch. I was a student at East Central High School graduating in 1971. Mr. Dorsch provided career/course guidance as the assistant principal. Since then, I have had a 35-year career in nursing mainly at Saint Francis. I had the utmost respect for this man and the contributions he made to the education of all my classmates.
I had the privlege of being in Coach Dorsch's class at Central High School. In all my years of receiving an education, I have never had a better educator, counselor, and true friend. Each student received the same nurturing and push to be the best that we could be, in everything that we undertook,not just the class room. Coach Dorsch made a tremendous impact on every one he touched.
I will miss my Uncle George very much. He was always so sweet to me and seemed to have such a gentle nature. We both shared a love of our family's Germans from Russia history, so he was my genealogy buddy. I'll miss sharing that with him, and all of our little chats. He was so much like my dad Gene, his brother, just a very very good man. You have fought the good fight Uncle George, rest in peace, I love you.
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Coach Dorcsh. He was a man of integrity, and he left a lifelong impression on me. I was lucky to have him as my coach for one season at East Central in 1968-69. I learned what a great teacher of wrestling he was, but more importantly, he was a powerful man of strength and character. He earned a great deal of respect from the students at EC by his efforts to guide us to do what was right. I too, chose a career in education, I was a wrestling coach as well, and today I am an assistant principal in Virginia. My career mirrored Coach Dorsch in many ways, and hopefully the impression I leave with my students are a reflection of the example Coach Dorsch left with me.My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I wrestled at Tulsa Central from 1956-57 and was in Coach Dorsch's class. I have thought a lot about him through the years. He was an excellent coach who did well with his teams- and he was an excellent teacher. I still remember visiting OSU and seeing a picture of him doing a one-hand chin-up in one of the halls of the arena. Please accept my condolences concerning his passing.
George was so loved and so dear to all of us. He was always kind and considerate and generous. He was gentle without being weak, firm without being hard, always patient, always loving, and with trememdous intelligence and strength of character. The world has lost one of the really good guys and he will long be remembered and missed.
I extend to the family my most heartfelt sympathy on the death of George Dorsch. Coach Dorsch was my high school wrestling coach for three years,1955 – 1957, at Tulsa Central High School. He was a trmendous person, an outstanding college wrestler at Oklahoma A&M, a great teacher and high school wrestling coach. Baba was a kind, and loving grandfather. He was full of knowledge and advice that he shared with me, and I will never forget that. He had a great sense of humor that I admired him for. I will miss you Baba. Love Tyler.
Baba as I lovingly knew him was a very special person, and I will miss having him as my grandfather. I will always remember him as a loving man who put his family first. I have had the special opportunity over the past couple of years while going to school in Dallas to visit Baba and Nana in Tulsa. During the trips to visit them I was able to grow closer to him and realize how blessed I was able to have him in my family. I know he was a man of faith and is with the Lord now. I truly miss him, but I am so fortunate to have been given the time with him that I had.
