A. Elaine Phillips' Obituary
A. Elaine Phillips was born in Clarkton, Missouri on May 20, 1921 to Clarence W. and Cona Lee Reeves. She passed peacefully on November 25, 2017 and was transfered to her heavenly home to forever be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She moved to Tulsa in 1953 and met and married William Choc Phillips while both were involved with the “Sweet Adelines.” She was employed at Seismograph from 1953 til 1976. Choc, Elaine, Larry and Susan moved to Leonard, Oklahoma to a “Farm on the Hill” in 1961. The “Farm” became the gathering place for the Reeves, Sontheimer, Phillips and Ward families for the next 3 1/2 decades. Memories of fishing, food, fellowship, riding horses, romping through the woods and family softball are all preserved in the memories of dozens of the family members that have shared their countless thoughts and love for Elaine.She was preceded in her death by her husband, William “Choc” Phillips and her siblings, La Viece Jones, Newell Reeves, James Reeves, Meredith Reeves, Wilda Sontheimer and Marney Kamp.She is survived by her brother, Gary Reeves; son, Larry Phillips; daughter, Susan Ward; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends, who all agree she was “Saint Elaine.”Viewing will be held Monday, November 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home and family will greet friends that evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend George Ward officiating.
