Aaron "Chris" James' Obituary
Aaron “Chris” James, 50, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on July 23, 2025. He was born on December 16, 1974, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to Ronald Mooneyham and Sarah James.
Chris was a deeply creative soul with a passion for storytelling. He earned his degree in journalism from Oklahoma State University and carried his love for writing and communication throughout his life. He was also a devoted servant in the church communities he was part of, from Poteau to Tulsa, where he formed lasting connections and friendships.
On December 4, 2010, Chris married Amanda James, and together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and love. They were blessed with two children, Aaron and Kinsley, whom Chris adored. He was an amazing father—humble, giving, and fiercely dedicated to his family. He fought courageously to remain with them for as long as he could.
Chris had many passions, including collecting comic books, reading, and playing with his kids. He valued meaningful connections and loved his entire family—far beyond his own household. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and the genuine way he cared for others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Amanda James; children, Aaron and Kinsley James; sister, Chelcci Stapleton (Derek); brother, Justin Savage (Tyanna); father, Ronny Mooneyham (Kellie McCoy); nieces, Sawyer and Maycci Stapleton; aunts, Lafonda Matthews, Cheryl Mooneyham, and Joyce House; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah James.
