Adam Christopher Schmitz's Obituary
Our beloved son, Adam Christopher Schmitz, left this earth on May 13, 2014. Adam was the first born son to Paul and Janet Schmitz. He was born on January 23, 1991, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Adam attended Union Public Schools through the 8th grade and then Bishop Kelley High School from where he was graduated in 2009. Adam picked up a guitar when he was 13 years old and found his passion. He loved his music and was especially proud of the CD that he and his high school band mates from “Ex Nihilo” had created. After high school, and against almost impossible odds, Adam was accepted to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he auditioned without even being able to read a note of music. Everyone who heard him play knew he was going to do special things with his music. He loved to hang out in Rockport, Massachusetts and play music with many of his friends. He was graduated from the Berklee College of Music in August, 2013 with a diploma in Professional Music. Adam had many wonderful friends that touched him in some way throughout his short life. He loved to make people laugh and we will miss the funny voices that he always tried to imitate. He is survived by his mom and dad, Paul and Janet Schmitz, his brothers, Brandon Schmitz, Cameron Schmitz, and Drake Schmitz. Grandparents, Dick and Alma Schmitz of Tulsa. He will be joined in heaven by his Grandparents the late Francis and Wanda Cummings. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles. Michael and Sarah Schmitz, Daniel and Kay Schmitz, Timothy Schmitz, Stephen and Christine Cummings, David and Deanna Cummings, Ann and Phil Perryman, and Kurt and Mary Lou Cummings. He is also survived by many cousins, Jenny (Perryman) and husband Dustin Davis, Cassandra (Cummings) and husband Josh Coleman, Rachel (Perryman) and husband Lane Johnson, Elizabeth (Cummings) and husband Loren Wakefield, Leigh Baker, Margaret Schmitz, Matthew Schmitz, Meredith (Schmitz) and husband James Stanfill, William Schmitz, Kyle Cummings and MacKenzie Cummings. He also had several second cousins: Lydia and Elise Johnson, Ryan and James Wakefield, and Kate Davis. He is also survived by his Great Aunts Karen Schmitz and Gretchen Schmitz, and by his beloved dog “Omar”. Adam’s music and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him. We expect he will be playing to packed audiences in Heaven every night!
