Adela Blanche Mitchell's Obituary
Adela Blanche Mitchell was born to James and Blanche Subera Petrik on October 11, 1937, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 23, 2024, at the age of 86. Adela was born in Caldwell, Kansas and grew up on the family farm in Medford, Oklahoma. She graduated from Medford High School and then attended Business School in Wichita, Kansas. Adela was a partner in a successful real estate company, Tulsa Properties, Inc. founded in 1978. Prior to that she was the owner/operator of an auto salvage business, which was called the Autopool of Tulsa. Adela was an active volunteer in the community who could often be found volunteering at the Tulsa Boys Home and later as an ambassador at the Tulsa International Airport. She married Perry Mitchell July 19, 2002, at Asbury Church, where they had met the year before. They enjoyed traveling many parts of the world during their 22-year marriage. She is survived by her loving husband Perry Mitchell; sister Adeline Boyer (Ted); sister Angia Hosman (Don); Perry’s son Alan Mitchell and daughter Debra Swedberg; Perry’s four granddaughters; Adela’s niece, two nephews, seven great nieces/nephews and five great-great nieces/nephews as well as other family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Blanche Petrik, one niece and a great nephew. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to one of the many charities Adela supported including Tulsa Boys Home, tulsaboyshome.org, Camp Egan, okcamps.org/egan, and Clarehouse, clarehouse.org.
Adela's visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Veterans Field of Honor Phase II. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at Asbury Church.
