Adria Nicole grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and attended Tulsa Community College, where she took English Literature courses. Adria met Ross while working at Jenkins Post Office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while she was carrying mail. Many days, she went back to the office with roses that were placed on her LLV (white postal vehicle). Ross and Adria married and began several businesses, beginning with Auto Oasis in Tulsa, where she opened Ciel Gallery and Ciel Gallery Cafe’ and began designing for Cicciabella, which she later purchased. She had two brick-and-mortar locations for Ciel Gallery in Tulsa as well as an online presence. She created the websites for all of her businesses and for other people as well. She became extremely computer savvy and helped others solve programming issues. Adria would tell those close to her, “Don’t look at problems as obstacles, look at them as challenges.” And she would say, “Think outside the box.” She learned Mandarin and traveled to China a couple of times each year to oversee production of the Cicciabella products. She loved Chinese food, particularly the steamed buns.
Adria Nicole was an exceptionally beautiful and smart young woman. She was tested and placed in the Gifted Program (Kaleidoscope) beginning in grade school in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was involved in competitive swimming, ice skating, horseback riding, dancing, and was a wonderful chess player (she placed 2nd in a competition in fifth grade). She was taught to play chess by her dad and had begun teaching her niece, Katelin, to play. Because she and her sister, Deidra, were competitive swimmers, it was important that her nieces, Natalie and Katelin, learned to swim, so for many years, weather permitting, Saturdays were swim Saturdays.
Adria Nicole has always had an extreme love for all animals. She has almost always had a dog, as well as a variety of other pets. When she was young, she spent countless hours with her white Arabian horse, Zarana. Several years ago, Adria and Ross got involved with raising baby deer. They are magnificent, sweet animals. She had a special bond with them, and they thoroughly enjoyed each other's presence. Even unwell, Adria spent as much time as she could with her pet deer.
When she was very young, there were days that Adria changed her clothing constantly. At times, it seemed like it was every 15 minutes. She always wanted to look glamorous and beautiful, and she definitely was. She was also very adventurous. She loved the outdoors, went rappelling, loved roller coasters, jumped off of a very high cliff into Fort Gibson Lake, went fishing (fish liked coming to her line so she joked that it was because of the small bit of Cherokee in her blood), and she proudly brought home a snapping turtle at the age of 11. She loved traveling, and she visited the UK, France, Ireland, Spanish Wells, Jamaica, Mexico, etc. She went on a cruise with friends, was seasick, so she got off the cruise ship at St.Thomas, in the Virgin Islands, to stay there by herself for a week before returning home.
Auto Oasis, Citgo Quick Lube, Texaco Express Lubes, Phillips 66 Fast Lubes, Ciel Gallery, Ciel Gallery Cafe’, Cicciabella, Bella by Design, Bella Bluff Manor, Co-Owner of two luxury Tulsa Spas, Website and Logo Design, Articles in the Tulsa World and in Page Six, Legacy Makers, Red Carpet Events…There were so many business accomplishments, and she just kept going, even though she had spent weeks at the Mayo Clinic multiple times, and had had major health issues for the last decade, worsening during the last several years. She tried to enjoy each day and look at the positive, despite illness, hindrances, and unwarranted problems deliberately sent her way. She loved designing, and that was something she would do, even when extremely unwell. Bella Bluff Manor is a testament to her designs.
Adria said that her best attribute was her sense of humor. She had a quick smile and truly loved and valued people, and she is and will be desperately missed!
Adria’s body was taken to Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where she was cremated. There will be a “Celebration of Life,” officiated by her good friend, Tracy Moore, at her wedding/event venue, Bella Bluff Manor, to be attended by family and close friends at a later date. This gathering will be by invitation only. She had too many friends and followers to make this an open event, but be assured, she loved all of you. Please feel free to leave special memories you shared with Adria for everyone who loved her to enjoy.
