Albert Van Garrison's Obituary
Albert Van garrison was born March 5, 1941 to Wesley and Ora (Treadway) Garrison in Hollis, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of three boys, with an identical twin Elbert Eugene and an older brother Wendal Ray Butch. Albert’s father was killed in a construction accident when he was approximately three months old. Later in her life, Ora married Aubrey Ford, Albert’s loving step-dad. The family moved to Borger, Texas where Albert grew up and graduated from high school. Albert married Katherine (Kathy) Gibson on August 18, 1963 in Beaver, Oklahoma. The couple lived in Borger, Texas. On November 22, 2003, the Gibson’s renewed their wedding vows. Albert was baptized in May of 1963 while visiting in Enid, Oklahoma. They moved to Hobbs, NM where their loving daughter, Rebecca La Dawn was born November 3, 1969. Throughout the years they moved from place to place leaving many friends and loved ones. Most recently they lived in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where Ronnie worked as a bus driver and mechanic for the Broken Arrow Public School System. Albert is preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Ora Garrison, his step-dad Aubrey Ford, his brothers Elbert Eugene Garrison and Wendal Ray Butch Garrison. Albert’s greatest joys in life were his grandchildren, his labors for God and, of course church day dinners. Funeral services for Albert Garrison will be held at the Church of the First Born on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Roger Sanders, Jack Sweet and Dan Davis will officiate. Burial will take place at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK. Services are under the direction of Floral Haven Funeral Home.Survived By: He is survived by his wife, Kathy Garrison; daughter Rebecca Gazaway; grandchildren Gracie, Grafton and Micah Gazaway; his son-in-law Chris Gazaway and many other relatives and friends who loved and cared for him.
