Alene Tippin's Obituary
Alene Tippin, 99 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born July 1, 1920 in Wanette, Oklahoma to her parents, Dalphus (Dal) Abston and Mary Ibie (Robinson) Abston. She married the love of her life in 1940 and they shared in over 47 Years together before his passing in 1987.Alene is survived by three children, Rita Rhodes and her husband Tom of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joyce Alger and her husband Wayne of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Terry Tippin and his wife Carol Ann of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two step-children, Ronaldean Howard Tippin and Imajean (Tippin) Laudiick, fourteen grandchildren, Paul, David, Carissa, Jacinda, Mike, Chris, Jon, Mark, Brian Thomas. Timothy, Anthony, Theodore, Terry, Victoria and eleven (+?) great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolphus and Mary Abston, four brothers, two sisters, her husband Howard M. Tippin and a set of twins.Alene, loved to take “scenic” route, never lost, just took longer to get where we were going. End up in the middle of Cow pasture once & middle of a grave yard another time. She loved to hang wallpaper & once it fell down on top of her head. Gardening was another one of her passion. The elm tree on Springland Drive had a perfectly trimmed on the bottom due the “switches” which she used on her children when they needed discipline. She was ALWAYS encourage her children to pursue their dreams.After her retirement at Oklahoma State DH she spent many years as a volunteer at St. Anthony in Oklahoma City and St Francis in Tulsa.Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Floral Haven’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwight Campbell II officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m., following the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarehouse, 7617 S Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133 or Miller Hospice, 6590 S. Utica Ave, Tulsa, OK 74136.
