Alexandra "Allie" Catherine Tatum's Obituary
It is with great regret that we announce the passing of Alexandra Catherine Tatum on September 29, 2024. Allie, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on January 30, 1988, to Harvey and Cheri Tatum, the youngest of three children.
There aren’t enough words for how much Allie was loved by everyone she knew. She put her whole heart into loving everyone around her. She could go from not knowing someone to being their newest best friend in a matter of minutes. She collected friends all over the world, and she could make anyone feel seen and listened to.
Allie was equal part dog whisperer and dog yeller. She did not just love dogs, she was obsessed with them and dreamed of owning land so she could board them and have wide open spaces. In the last two years, she built a business from the ground up by boarding and grooming dogs from her home. She cared deeply for every dog she was responsible for, creating theme songs for them, walking them multiple times a day and telling endless stories about their antics at her home.
In addition to dogs, Allie loved her family fiercely. She often orchestrated get-togethers and loved to spend quality time with the “fam-bam” anytime she could. Allie had a beautiful voice and was attending voice lessons to learn to sing opera. She loved horses, rode them competitively as a child, and always talked about how so many of life’s problems just faded away when she could go for a ride. She was athletic and determined and was training for her first marathon, after running three half marathons in the last year. Allie will be forever missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Allie is survived by her mother and father, Cheri, and Harvey, her two brothers Nick and Greg, sister-in-laws Kate (Carter) and Jennifer, her “nephlets” Guy, Marie and Finley, her grandmother, Lou and her six wonderful dogs, Coco, Kiwi, Kevin, Givvy, Claude and Kaia.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service to honor the life of Allie will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Bishop Becca Middeke-Conlin officiating.
Allie's family kindly invites guests to consider wearing bright colors to her service, as she loved rainbows and anything colorful. While not required, it would be a meaningful way to honor her memory and would be much appreciated by Allie's family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation in memory of Allie, whose love for animals was a central part of her life. Contributions can be made online at www.arftulsa.org to help continue the rescue and care of animals in need.
However, anyone wishing to send flowers to display for the service may do so by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any independent florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 9:00 AM on Friday, October 11, 2024, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Allie's services in a timely manner.
A reception will be held once the chapel service concludes from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Floral Haven’s Family Center. Allie's family would like to warmly extend an invitation to anyone wishing to attend the reception in order to continue in fellowship and in the sharing of memories. The Floral Haven Family Center is also located on-site at Floral Haven Funeral Home: 6420 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
Arrangements entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home.
