Alice Deane Allen's Obituary
Alice Deane Allen born June 12, 1936 in Alda, Nebraska passed away April 6, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Alice was the first of 4 children born to Curtis and Verna Lewton. After graduating Alice began her career as a Patient Accounts Rep. at Springer Clinic in Tulsa. In 1985 Alice retired after working 10 years with the company. Alice married Charles Allen on January 25, 1957 in Dallas, Texas. After retiring Alice loved to volunteer at Broken Arrow Public Library and Broken Arrow Neighbors. One of the most important events later in Alice’s life was receiving the Volunteer of the Year award for the Broken Arrow Neighbors. Alice was a devoted Christian and attended services regularly at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow. Alice was on the Prayer Chain at St. Stephen’s and would much of her time praying for those in need. When Alice wasn’t spending time with her family or attending Church functions she was an avid reader. Alice will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Alice is survived by her spouse Charles Allen; daughter Cindy and her husband Patrick Austin; daughter Peggy Allen; grandchildren Amanda Michelle Austin, Emily Laine Austin Broomhall, Ryan Allan Austin; siblings Marilyn Rigsby and Richard Lewton. Alice is preceded in passing by her parents Curtis and Verna Lewton; brother Robert Lewton and granddaughter Jessica Anne Austin.
