Alice Roberta Dewees' Obituary
In Loving Memory of Alice Roberta Dewees
October 5, 1948 – September 28, 2025
Alice Roberta Dewees, 76, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. Born on October 5, 1948, in Frankfort, Indiana, to James Wilson and Thelma Jean (Martinson) Baldwin, Alice lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep love for her family, community, and the simple joys of life.
A lifelong educator, Alice devoted her career to Tulsa Public Schools, where she taught at Foster Middle School. Her passion for teaching and her gentle spirit left a lasting impression on generations of students and colleagues alike. She believed in the power of education and the importance of nurturing young minds.
Alice made her home in a truly special neighborhood, surrounded by wonderful neighbors who became cherished friends. She found joy in gardening, camping with her husband Carroll and family in their RV, and cheering on her favorite football teams, the Chicago Bears and the Oklahoma Sooners. Her love for the game was matched only by her love for her big dog, Rocky, who was her constant companion.
She had a good soul—warm, generous, and full of quiet strength. Her presence brought comfort and laughter to those around her, and her memory will continue to do so.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Heather, and son-in-law Jason Rains; granddaughters, Hailee, Madison, and Rory; and great-grandson, Benji. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Baldwin, and his wife, Nancy; as well as a beloved niece, nephew, four great-nieces, and a great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Dewees, in June of 2018.
At this time, no services are scheduled. The family invites those who knew Alice to honor her memory in their own way—perhaps by planting something beautiful, taking a quiet walk in nature, or simply sharing a kind word with someone who needs it.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
