Alice Kate Hobson's Obituary
Alice Kate Hobson, 94, of Oologah, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023. Alice was born to Henry and Elizabeth Weinrebe Wolff on August 8, 1928 in Karlstad, Minnesota. She was the baby of 8 children. 4 girls and 4 boys.
Alice was born on her older Sister's, Bertha's 12' birthday. She was the last born and the last to pass. Her father passed away when she was 7 months old from pneumonia. Her mother raised the 8 children by herself after his passing.
At some point, Alice's family moved to California. Dick and Alice met on a blind date after his discharge from the Navy in WWII. Three months later they were married on August10, 1946.
Alice gave birth to Norman in Compton, California at home. Dick and Alice then moved to Oklahoma where she gave birth to Ronny and Dicky in Cushing, OK. She gave birth to Danny in Pawhuska, OK, at home. Jeanne was born in Yale OK, and Daryl, also know as Chub, was born in Cushing, OK.
In 1959 or 1960 she returned to the church meetings that she grew up in. She remained faithful to Jesus the rest of her life. Dick and Alice were married 63 years before his passing in 2009. Alice was preceded in death by her entire childhood family, her husband, Dick Vernon Hobson, her sons Dick Vernon Hobson Jr., (Tulsa K-9 officer in 1996, and Daryl Ray (Chub) Hobson in 2002, and her grandson Richard (Ricky)Hobson in 2018.
Alice was survived by her sons: Norman Hobson and wife Mary of Wichita, KS; Ronald Hobson of Princeton, TX; Daniel Hobson and wife Iva Lynn (Sug), of Oologah, OK; only daughter, Jeanne Chappell and husband Mike, of Oologah, OK; and daughter-in-law Billie Fulbright.
11 Grandchildren: Jericho Hobson Goudeau; Dana Hobson Monholland, BJ Hobson Mullen, Becky Hobson, Danell Hobson, Michael Hobson, Alicia Hobson Stuart, Michael Chappell, Shawna Chappell Foster, Jennifer Hobson, and Drew Miller.
14 Great-Grandchildren: Destiny Freeman, and Justin Foster, Anaya Hobson, Jillian Monholland, Aubrey and Briley Mullen, Kian Copeland, Stefanie, Zoe and Soren Chappell, Ciera and Destiny Bogal, Charlee Rose Goodwin, and Charles Stuart.
