Alice Janet Labadie's Obituary
Alice Janet Labadie (Norris), was born June 17th, 1934 to Roger & Pauline Norris in Hamilton, Ohio. Alice knew very early on her childhood that she wanted to become a nurse after a bout of tonsillitis at the age of 8. Alice moved to Tulsa with her family and attended Hillcrest School of Nursing where she graduated in 1955 with her Bachelor’s Degree. She then went on and obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1957. She returned to Tulsa and started teaching at Hillcrest School of Nursing until she eventually became the Administrator of Nursing Services at hillcrest for over 25 years. Alice Labadie was also the President of Hospice of Green Country in the early 90’s. She stepped down to teach at Langston as well as become a hospice nurse. Alice Labadie passed away Wednesday, September 7th 2016 at Hillcrest. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and one brother Roger “Jack” Norris of Nikiski, Alaska. She is survived by her husband Mark Labadie of Kansas, Oklahoma; her son Jay Labadie & wife Bridget of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her daughter Candice Labadie & husband Randy Jones of Coweta, Oklahoma; as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; her brother Don Norris & wife Julee of Roswell, Georgia; her sister Margret Norris of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; several nephews and 1 niece. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 11:00AM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 12:30PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel; followed by a graveside service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Flower Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens, 6500 S 129th E Avenue; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
