Alice M. DeWitt's Obituary
Alice Marguerite Tiek was born in Gillespie, Illinois the daughter of Henry and Nellie Ann Tiek. After graduating from East Alton High School she joined the Naval Hospital Corp and was stationed in Norman, Oklahoma where she met and married John Chenault. They moved to Texas where Judith, John, Carol and April were born.She raised her four children on her own working as a medical assistant and then a property manager for Lincoln Properties. She married Kent DeWitt on January 14, 1977. They retired to Table Rock Lake where they enjoyed boating, fishing and entertaining many friends and grandkids. They traveled to Hawaii and went on many cruises including the Caribbean, Alaska and Panama Canal. There were always delicious meals, game playing and great family fun at their lake home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent DeWitt, parents, Henry and Ann Tiek, her sister, Viola Wake, Aunt Ethel Broyles, daughter Judith Ann Noble and Great Granddaughter Shelby Grover. We are comforted in knowing she is with all these loved ones.She is survived by her sister, Myrtle Blankenship, brother, Mel Tiek, three children, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews remember great times with Aunt Alice.
