Allen D. George's Obituary
Allen Dwight George, 97, passed from this life on May 6, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He entered this world on May 31, 1928, in Redfork, Oklahoma, born to Doty George and Katie (Lingo) George, and from that day forward began a legacy defined by devotion, resilience, and a deep love for family.
At just 15 years old, Allen boldly joined the United States Navy. He served for two years and was assigned to the USS President Adams, an experience that shaped his sense of duty and adventure. After his discharge, he returned to Tulsa, where fate introduced him to the love of his life, Berniece Kirkland. They married and built a beautiful family together, raising seven children over the course of their 72-year marriage.
Allen worked for several local trucking companies throughout his career, delivering goods in and around the Tulsa area. He eventually retired from Magic Empire Express, leaving behind a reputation for hard work, reliability, and a friendly spirit that made him well‑known among coworkers and customers alike.
After Berniece’s passing in October 2017, Allen continued to live a full and meaningful life, cherishing every moment spent with his family and friends. His home was always filled with warmth—and often with animals. Allen loved pets of every kind and adopted numerous cats and dogs over the years. It was rare to see him without a furry companion curled up in his lap or sharing his bed.
A proud collector of guns, Allen enjoyed countless hours at a local gun range, where he volunteered much of his time and delighted in target practice. He was also a dedicated Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years, a commitment that reflected his loyalty, integrity, and service to others.
Allen is survived by four of his children Lloyd and Janet George of Kerrville, Texas, Boyd George of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marilyn and Jim Burnette of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Gayle and Mike Ringenberg of Magnolia, Texas. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great‑grandchildren who will carry forward his memory with love.
He is preceded in death by his wife Berniece George, three of his children Marquita McCracken of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Rhonda Bledsoe of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Phillip George of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Allen Dwight George was a true gem; steadfast, kind, and endlessly generous. His presence enriched the lives of all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the stories he shared with them, the friends he uplifted, and the countless moments of joy he brought into the world.
