Allen F. McKinney's Obituary
Allen F. McKinney, age 73 of Broken Arrow, passed from this life on Friday, October 7, 2011. He was born on March 14, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Katie Blanche (Arney) McKinney and Robert J. McKinney. Allen was raised in Harriman, Tennessee and graduated from Oliver Springs High School. He was a member of the 1st Airborn 58th Infantry being honorably discharged from the United States Army Sgt. E-5. Allen married Mary E. (Goodin) in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1972. He was very active with Teamsters Union Local 523, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, National Rifle Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Rats & Kats. Allen enjoyed politics, lobbying at the state capitol for veterans rights, hunting, animal rescue and bragging about his son and granddaughters. Allen was preceded in death by his infant daughter: Gina Ann McKinney; parents: Katie and Robert McKinney; 2 brothers: Harold E. McKinney and Donald R. McKinney. He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; son: Shawn D. McKinney and his wife Bobbi of Coweta, Oklahoma; stepson: Sheldon Stepp of Hartman, Arkansas; grandchildren: Kylee McKinney and Kelsey McKinney, both of Coweta, Oklahoma; sister: Shirley Ann Brooks and her husband Allen of Kingsport, Tennessee; sister-in-laws: Ann McKinney of Harriman, Tennessee and Bonnie McKinney of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; nephews: Duane McKinney and his wife Merideth of Harriman, Tennessee and Jeffrey Brooks of Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with the family receiving guests from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM that evening. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011, 10:00 AM at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with interment and graveside military rites following at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
