Allene Anderson's Obituary
Allene Anderson, 85, loved and adored by her family, died peacefully on June 28, 2018, at her home in Tulsa. Allene was born to John and Iva Hand on March 15, 1933 at their home in a rural area of Carroll County, Arkansas. At a young age, her family moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she graduated from North High School in 1951. Although she served as secretary at various organizations for most of her working life, Allene also held the position of deputy sheriff for Sedgwick County where she escorted female inmates within the jail, as well as the position of customer service representative for Southwestern Bell where she sold the new and improved color rotary phones. Allene’s real ambition in life was to be wife, mother, and grandmother. She began that journey on September 2, 1955, by marrying the love of her life, Jack D. Anderson. Jack whisked her off to Atlanta, Georgia, and they returned to Wichita less than two years later. In 1969, they moved to Tulsa, now with two young daughters. Allene’s two children, Melissa Strickland and Lori McMichael of Tulsa, helped her achieve her final ambition of grandmother. She loved and was loved by her grandchildren—Amber Harper of Tulsa, Conor McMichael of Oklahoma City, and Annie McMichael of Tulsa.Allene is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren, and her sister, Sue Fisher, of Valley Center, Kansas.A service celebrating Allene’s life will be held on Thursday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m., at Central Church of the Nazarene, 7291 E. 81st Street, Tulsa.Reception will follow the services
