Alma Rue Bean's Obituary
Alma Rue Kirby Bean, 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on January 3, 2021, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was born to Elbert Roy and Dolores Irene Mantooth Kirby on November 25, 1931, in Ozark, Arkansas.
Alma attended Berryhill High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma; it was there that she met and fell in love with Bob Bean Sr., her future husband. They were married on May 20, 1948, at New Home Free Will Baptist Church, and for over 70 years they lived in Berryhill where they raised their three children. She loved cooking, hosting family dinners, and raising her children and grandchildren. She worked as the office manager of their trucking and excavating company for many years.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Dolores Kaye Bean Arrowood of Sand Springs, OK, brothers Clarence Clemons Kirby and Warren Andrew Kirby, and sisters Lois Inez Kirby Wilson Tinder, Thelma Mae Kirby Binder, and Vera Elizabeth Kirby Hiatt. She is survived by her sons, Bobby Lee Bean, Jr., and wife Harolyn of Tulsa, OK, Patrick Bean and wife Tracy of Tulsa, OK; her son-in-law Larry Arrowood of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bean, Courtney Warren and husband John, Natalie Fernandez and husband Nick, Jim Arrowood and wife Jennifer, JP Bean and wife Alyssa, and Ryan Bean; and five great-grandchildren: Charlee and Cami Rodriguez, James and Emily Arrowood, and Stella McElroy. A host of other relatives and friends also cherish her memory.
