Alton "Glen" Matlock's Obituary
Alton “Glen” Matlock, 81, of Broken Arrow, passed away on June 16, 2022, with his wife Carol by his side. He was born on January 7, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Alton and Virgie Matlock. Glen was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a Marksman.
Glen founded Matlock Security Services in 1995. Before starting his own company, Glen enjoyed other careers, including over-the-road driver, construction, concessions, and several jobs within the security industry.
Glen never fully retired, continuing to work several hours a week and enjoying lunchtime with his regulars. In his spare time, he did many things that brought him joy. He was an avid bicycle and motorcycle rider and enjoyed cooking in his outdoor kitchen. He was never one to sit still for long. Glen enjoyed tinkering with his hands and was quite the fix-it-man and very creative in making all things work. Family always came first to Glen. In addition to Carol, the love of his life, he treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and greats. His extended family included those with whom he worked at Matlock Security. He also thoroughly enjoyed his two different bike groups, where he made many long-lasting and cherished friendships. Glen also valued the close relationships he had with his neighbors. Glen was generous, never hesitating to help or donate goods and services to those in need.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents. Glen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol; 2 Sisters, Faye and Sandra; sons Rod Matlock and his wife Tracey, and Randy Robison and his wife Pam; Grandchildren Jennifer Trantham (Nick), Jamie Robison (Sarah), Morgan Patterson (Zek), Taylor Matlock, Rider Matlock, Erin Powell (Kyle), and Shannon Beck. Greats include Landry and Harper Trantham, Lena, Griffin, Ryder, and Rhiannon Patterson, Chandler and Chapman Robison, and Cooper Williams.
A memorial service and celebration of Glen’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, at 12:30 pm in the Chapel at Floral Haven Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow in the Family Center.
