Obituary for Amy Elisabeth Jackson
Amy Elisabeth (Truett) Jackson, 38, of Tahlequah, passed away September 11, 2024 in Muskogee, A celebration of her life will be held at 11:30AM on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Life Church located at 7071 East 121st St. S in Bixby.
Amy was born on October 9, 1985 in Tulsa Oklahoma. She attended Jenks area schools, graduating from Jenks High School in 2003. From a young age, Amy developed a love of reading which continued throughout her adult life. As a child she often hid in her closet with a flashlight after her bedtime so she could continue reading a book without her parents knowing. Some of her happiest moments were reading a good book and enjoying her many plants. Buying, growing and nurturing plants was one of Amy’s passions. For Amy, you could never have too many plants. In addition to books and plants, Amy was a skilled knitter, who enjoyed sharing her beautiful hand knitted items with family and friends. Among her other interests and loves were art, gardening, movies, her animals, (she never met a cat she didn’t like), holidays, and the fall season.
However, the thing Amy treasured most was her family. She found the love of her life in her husband, Ryan. They were married on October 22, 2005 in Tulsa and were later blessed with their two daughters, Fiona and Samantha. They enjoyed spending time together as a family—whether going to places like Silver Dollar City, local cultural events and theatre productions, such as Disney or just hanging out together at home. Amy was especially proud of her daughters, supporting them in their interests and always advocating for their well being. Being a wife and mother brought her the most happiness.
Amy was known as a faithful friend and confidante. She will always be remembered as the one you went to if you needed a sympathetic ear, or someone to tell you what you needed to hear but didn’t want to hear. She was the one to comfort you when you were sad, and the one to celebrate with you the happy times.. No matter the situation, Amy was there for you. She was that kind of friend, wife, mother, sister, daughter, niece and granddaughter. And her conversations always ended with her telling you she loved you and things would be okay.
Amy is survived by her husband, Ryan and two daughters, Fiona and Samantha of Tahlequah; her parents, Casey and Lisa Truett and Tina Lemmons; Siblings Melinda Goodwin (Shane), Lauren Key (Jon), Christopher Truett, Zachary Truett, William Lemmons and Michael Phipps, as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents James and Betty Chance and her paternal grandfather, Herbert Truett.
Officiating the celebration of life will be Pastor Molly Hardway of Life Church of Bixby and Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow.
