Amy Schmidt's Obituary
Amy Lynn Schmidt, 55 of Broken Arrow, Ok., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday June 12, 2022. Amy was born on July 27th,1966 to Gerald Francis James, Sr. and Mary Ann Malchow (Congdon).
Amy fought a hard battle with cancer in Oct. 2000, which went into remission but she lived for 22 years with all of the health issues that was created by the cancer and strokes. Amy pushed forward in this battle with the most Courage, one could ever have in life. She always faced each day with Joy in her heart an a smile on her face along with the most beautiful Peace in knowing she would spend eternity in heaven and on the worst of times She would always give her famous finger point to her heart then to heaven, Amy would say “Oh Wow”! And no matter what always says “Praise God”.
Amy married the love of her life, Jeff Schmidt on June 26th,1993, in Adair, Ok. They were married for almost 29 years. Amy would say “No Way”
Amy graduated from Adair High School in May of 1984 and then attended Northeastern State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Amy then enlisted in the US Army on Oct. 17, 1989-March, 2000, where she was activated to serve multiple times. Amy received The Army Commendation Medal and The Soldier of the Year Award.
Amy loved the Aphasia Choir, going to church, visiting with friends, She loved long walks, reading, singing and listening to music, watching her favorite TV shows, taking friends to climb on top of Edison High School to see the view, or shooting a gun and doing something fun around the ranch, but most of all she liked to laugh and Praise God.
Amy is proceeded in death by her Dad and Grandparents.
Amy is survived by her husband, Jeff, of the home, Her Mother, Mary Ann and Roger Malchow of Adair, Ok, several brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and loved ones. Amy fought the hard fights, and will be Greatly missed by all that loves and knows her. In Amy's words “Talk to ME Later”
The services will be officiated by her brother JJ James, with visitation on Thursday, June 16th, from 4p – 7pm and the service at 11:00am on Friday, June 17th at the Rose Chapel at Floral Haven, with the internment to follow at Floral Haven Cemetery.
