In Loving Memory of Amy Van Antwerp
Amy Van Antwerp, age 45, passed away on May 27, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She dedicated 26 years to helping others through therapeutic massage, craniosacral therapy and bodywork. Amy was a national board certified practitioner in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and also a certified yoga teacher. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with Bachelor of Science degrees in Journalism and Pre-Med Sciences and authored a book on emotional healing.
Amy had a lifelong passion for dance. From ballet as a child to swing dancing and lindy hop, she played a role in establishing the swing dance scene in Tulsa. She also studied belly dancing with renowned instructors on the west coast.
Amy had a deep love for animals, especially her two cats, Pewter and Onyx, who were her faithful companions in Oregon, California and Oklahoma.
Travel was another of Amy's joys. She backpacked through Europe after college and explored destinations such as Iceland, Ireland, Thailand, Mexico, Costa Rica, Turkey, Greece, Belize and Japan.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, Gary Van Antwerp; her grandparents, Jack and Elaine Van Antwerp; and her grandfather, Charles England.
Amy is survived by her mother, Diane Van Antwerp; brother, Michael Van Antwerp; grandmother, Roberta England; fiancé, Wes Roberts; as well as a host of beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
In Amy's honor, memorial donations can be made to God's Love Center to support their efforts in feeding children in Liberia, a country that Amy's mother has visited twice for ministry work. Checks can be sent to God's Love Center at 11468 NW Henson Court, Portland, OR 97229. Alternatively, God’s Love Center contributions can be given directly to Diane or Michael Van Antwerp.
