Anna Lou Burgess' Obituary
Anna Lou Burgess passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 26,2020.
She was born on Sept. 16,1917 in Keota, Oklahoma. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob E. Muncy and Dora A. Cacy Muncy. And by her three sisters: Lena Williams, Helen Cox and Gertrude Muncy. Two brothers, Tommy Muncy and Kermit Muncy.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth J. Muncy (Ann),Fairview Tx., nephew Kenneth S. Muncy (Paula),Allen TX,
Steve Cox, Oklahoma city, OK, Fred Cox, Alma, Ark. Also three nieces: Marie Lucarelli (Jim),
Berthoud, Co., Patsy Moreland, Abeline, TX., and Etta Mae. Raily, Houston, TX.
Anna Lou graduated from Keota High School, Keota, OK. and Northeastern State College, Tahlequah, Ok.
She began her working career teaching in a one room school house for 7 years in Center Point, Haskell County, OK. This tenure was followed by a 36 year career with the Creek County DHS.
She was honored in 2019 by the Oklahoma Historical Society as an Oklahoma Centurian. She was a kind and loving sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed, but the family is happy knowing she has gone to a better place.
