Annabelle Sullins' Obituary
Annabelle was born on December 4th, 1935, in the small town of Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada. She passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 10, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Sullins, her children, Tracy and Leslie, her grandson, Thor, her sister, Olive Eckstein, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Augusta Thorson; one brother, Miles Thorson; and one sister, Carole Grovum.Annabelle graduated from Thief River Falls High School, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, where she loved to dance all the popular dances of the day. She especially enjoyed the Lindy. She married the love of her life, James Sullins, on September 17, 1956. They traveled while he worked, and spent time in Alaska, California, Arizona and many other states. They settled in Yale, Oklahoma for a few years, then moved to Tulsa, where they raised their two children. She loved her children so much, and made sure that they both learned how to swim – something she always wished she could do. After the kids were grown, they moved to a 40 acre ranch (which she called “the farm”) near Sapulpa, OK, where they enjoyed caring for the land, and even put in a small lake, where she liked to watch the large turtles that would climb out on the rocks. She loved dogs, and they had several sweet ones over the years. She also truly enjoyed reading, and always said that she hoped people would remember her love of the written word. She and James traveled extensively after the kids were grown, and she had especially fond memories of Europe and New Zealand. She was a classy lady, and she enjoyed dressing up for a night out sometimes. Even after she couldn’t dress up and go out anymore, she still loved watching fashion shows on TV – she even recently coerced her Hospice nurses into watching a fashion show with her, before she would let them give her a bath! She was the pet of her assisted living home, where her sweet personality stole every heart in the place. She will be dearly missed.Visitation will be held from 3-7pm on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life service being held at 12:30pm on Thursday, December 13th, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Lacey officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
