Arbutus Thomas Esslinger's Obituary
Arbutus Thomas Esslinger, formerly of Iola, was born in Humbolt, KS on February 14, 1925 to Ennis and Goldie Mae Starkey. She was a salesperson at the Weaver’s Department Store in Lawrence, KS for over 40 years. Arbutus loved to travel, was a member of the Broken Arrow Newcomers Club and a coffee social group. Above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by husbands, John M. Thomas and Edgar Esslinger.Services are to be held on Thursday, December 4th at 12:30PM at the Community of Christ Church in Tulsa, OK. Interment will follow in Garden of Saint Paul in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.Survived By: daughter, Sheri L. Butler of Ocala, FL, daughter, Jan A. Harris of Sperry, OK, son, John M. Thomas Jr. of Lawrence, KS, granddaughter, Shelley L. Turner of Tucson, AZ, grandson, Scott E. Smith of San Jose, CA, granddaughter, Daria Harris-Dobson of Skiatook, OK, and great-grandchildren, Kylie Smith, Andrew Turner, Hayden Smith, Christian Dobson, Devin Dobson, and Caitlin Dobson.
