Arley Cross' Obituary
Arley Cross was born at home to Earl and Bertha Harris Cross on April 7, 1922 in a log cabin in Huntington, Arkansas. He passed away in Tulsa on February 15, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, I. K. Cross.He joined the Army in 1942 during World War II and spent his Army career in the South Pacific. He received 3 Bronze Stars, 5 overseas service bars, and was promoted to Sergeant. His transport ship was attacked and sank in transit, but he survived to return to Texarkana, Arkansas where he fell for the love of his life, Aubria Kitchens. They were married on September 28, 1947 and added two daughters to their family, Sherry and Susan.After graduating from business college, Arley began his career as the bookkeeper of a lumberyard in Texarkana, then moved to American Airlines and his lifelong career as an accountant. He moved his young family to Tulsa, and eventually became an accounting manager with American Airlines.Arley was a family man who loved his wife and daughters. Everything was planned with them in mind. He is survived by his loving wife and and both daughters and their families: Their daughter Sherry Cross Price, her husband Cliff, their son Nathan and his wife Julia and baby Olivia, their daughter McKenzie Siebert and her husband Joe and baby Aiden. Their daughter Susan Cross Mullins, her husband Steve, their daughter Christy McDonald and her husband Andy and their children Jachin, Kimberlyn, Bo, Berline, and Caleb, their daughter Jenny LaBahn and her husband Jacob and their children, Jesse, Keenon, Hudson, Hannah, Liam, and Judah, their son Jeremy, his wife Melissa and their children Kenley and Levi.Arley was a wonderful husband, Daddy, and Papa to his grandchildren and greats.Visitation will be on Monday, February 18 from 4pm – 7pm.Services will take place at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 19 at South Lakewood Baptist Church 6108 E. 20th Street
